I wish I had taken this picture with a camera. My camera that I use is at my second home with my dad and my small camera just broke 2 weeks ago so I had to use my phone for this...
I took this picture because this is basically what every other Swede thinks of right now. Imagine yourself living in darkness and cold for 5 months, with between 30-15 degrees celsius everyday (about -15 in F). The sun barely comes out. It get's light (not at all really) at 12 o' clock and dark at 3.30 pm.. Then in the end of February, it's starting to get lighter outside and the temperature is getting higher, making the snow melt a bit more and the dangerous ice goes away. The sun is finally there and it feels like it's actually hot outside. It's 5*C outside. That would be a bit over 30*F. Many teenagers comes out between lessons for the first time to feel the sun and try to get some tan. The picture above is me trying to show what most of us feel. It might sound weird for some people who's never lived in a country with a winter this long. But when the temperature is over 0, it almost feels as if it is 20+ or more.
I took much the same picture on the second day of spring this year. Of course it was still well below zero here when I did that. Also our lawn chairs were buried in the snow, so we had to make do with a much chillier seat.
I have to agree with you, only a few weeks ago it felt warm to take off the jacket and only wear a tanktop, when it was only around 8 degrees... Got me thinking, how the F can I feel cold and shiver those summer nights when it's "only" around 18? Haha, guess it's about seeing things from different perspectives
There are big differences depending on where in the country you live, here in Gothenburg for example there have hardly been any snow whatsoever. I have used my summershoes all the way through winter. Winter is never as dark as when there is no snow to light things up. 6 months of autumn, we do have a little more sun though.
Nevertheless you make a great effort of looking like you really are basking in the sun, enjoying yourself.
Oh, i know what you mean! When i walked out the door yesterday, it was like the first time this year i didnt freeze, and i just got all these spring feelings stayed out all day today, absorbing every ray of sun i could get a hold of. Spring cannot come soon enough x)
Geez, you post one bikini pic and all the creepers come out to play >.< I have a friend in Sweden I'm sure would love this I really like the bikini mixed with the snow, it's very ironic, and as an Australian, I'm totally jealous you have snow whilst I'm dying in 40 degrees celsius
You forgot the - in front of 30-15 degrees. -15 degress here at the moment, in Norway, the neighbour of Sweden xD And yes, this is what most of us are beginning to feel, as there was 0, or 1, maybe 2+, degrees yesterday
