Lovely Couple - Stock 1 by Mirish Lovely Couple - Stock 1 by Mirish
I finally went to the studio and it was so much easier to use than I thought it would be.
I can't believe I've waited an entire year to use it. Such a waste! At least I have another year left hahah.

This wasn't a planned photoshoot at all. I was helping my boyfriend Charlie with his album cover, and ten minutes before we had to leave, he suggested we could take a few stock pictures.
This is just a casual theme then I guess. However, we're planning on doing a gothic couple stock when christmas break ends!

Stock Rules
-Always credit me by my Deviant name if you're using any of my stock, and always use a link in the description to my dA page www.mirish.deviantart.com
-Contact me or comment with the link of your artwork. I'd be more happy to see the finished result.
-You have my permission to use the finished product on other sites than dA, but you have to give me the link to the page and credit me.
-Send a note if you want to use my stock through commercial use.
-You may sell your artwork as prints here on dA.
-You may use the artwork as a book cover but my name has to be included, and if possible, I'd love to get a copy if published.
-Contact or comment me for questions.
-Do not claim the original photo as your own.

Excuse me kind artist of this DD while I display this little message to those who complain.

ALL YOU PEOPLE SHUT UP ABOUT WHAT SHOULD AND SHOULDN'T GET A DD, IT DOESN'T FRIGGIN MATTER! IT'S ART, LEARN TO RESPECT IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN PUT ON YOUR BIG-BOY/BIG-GIRL PANTIES AND GET OVER IT. THE BACK BUTTON IS UP THERE IF IT JUST MAKES YOU THAT MAD. *points at where ever it is on your computer/device.* All you who can't get over something like this getting a DD are a bunch of children, you know that? Not everything that ends up being a DD has to be a miraculous painting. You all should honestly be ashamed of yourselves, because this artist didn't ask for the DD, so don't give them a hard time. I'm honestly GLAD I've never gotten a DD, if people are gonna put me down for getting one...

Sorry about that, just had to get that across c: anyway, it's a lovely and sweet photo, stock or not. Very simple, yet sorta passionate~ Congrats on getting the DD, and don't let all those people get you down ^.^ I'm happy for you~!

"SHUT UP ABOUT WHAT SHOULD AND SHOULDN'T GET A DD, IT DOESN'T FRIGGIN MATTER!"

Yes, because what gets featured on the internet's 13th largest social network with 3.8 million weekly visits doesn't matter.

I think you're misunderstanding, but I probably should've been more specific ^.^;
I'm saying, why bother arguing about it? There's no point in it. It gets so irritating hearing people gripe about "Oh gosh, why'd this get a DD? It's so stupid." or "My work's better than this crap, why wont it get a DD?". To be honest, going around saying things like that is rude, especially to the artist who got the DD without even asking for it. It was given to them.

So yes, it does matter what ends up as a DD, but do we really have the right to put down the artist for something they didn't ask for? It doesn't matter, it's already happened. Sitting and complaining isn't gonna change the fact it's a DD, whether someone likes it or not. If they have nothing even remotely respectful or nice to say to the artist, they probably shouldn't say anything. ^.^;

I wasn't putting down the artist at all. I was expressing my dissatisfaction with the way DA grants DDs, and I wasn't expecting any change to happen. I'm not mad at all and I actually enjoy a good debate if you want. :) It's not fair when a simple shot like this that doesn't really take any technical or artistic skill gets a DD (though I'm not saying it's a bad photo). There are people (such as myself) who put their all into their art and aren't bad, but yet are at the bottom and only get a few views per deviation.

Not entirely true.

I've seen artists practically beg for DD's before, and they were handed them simply for begging.

Not trying to argue or be mean or anything, just wanted to point out the flaw in your argument.

Hmm… I have no right to argue back, for I've never seen it happen before. Though, I'm not trying to argue with anyone. I'm sincerely sorry if I'm being a nuisance here D:

I'm not gonna say if you're right or wrong. And oddly enough, with how DA's been lately, I can honestly see beggers being given DD's. Though, I never actually knew it could happen.

Trust me, I've seen it before.

Right after a favorited a piece once and commented on it, the artist of the piece said "Hey, now go tell one of the mods to make this a DD"

And I was like:...... -_-
umm, ma'am, this is NOT how you ask for DD's.

i mean yeah, art is hard work and shit, and I understand why people make such a big fuss over it.
Hell, tbh, I hate art mostly XD I might even quit it soon, it's been giving me too much grief being in a community where I notice people with better artwork than mine getting more attention, while I try my best and can't even draw so much as a circle.
I'm trying to be more a writer, but personally I hate that too XD
(I've already had a little troll asshole come to my page and spam emotes of shit on it, just to show me how much they thought of my "artwork")
I've just come to the conclusion that I'm no good at anything XD

But, to what some great artists have said I believe is that it's the journey that counts.

So, I guess it annoys some people how they art thieves become famous on here, for artwork they didn't make, or simply are mad at artists who are popular on here yet have their artwork deemed as "unworthy" by many.
(thought they don't have a right to judge, they don't know how much work the artist out in to making that)

Holy cow… D:

I'm sorry people have given you a hard time! I still have it rough from time-to-time for my art. I used to get bullied a lot here actually. By now, I write and draw (mostly as stress relief, I go through a lot of crap.).

My stories used to get a lot of heck, and I quit for a long time because people hurt me with their insensitivity, same goes for my drawings. But I've learned you just gotta trudge on and ignore those people who put you down~ It's hard, but if art is what you were interested in doing, you should continue. Not let others make ya hate it c: Know that every artist is or once was in your shoes. Don't ever say you're not good at anything /o/

The journey is what counts, but journeys are never easy. But, they are very rewarding at times~!

It is unfair how art thieves can become popular. It's really sad when a person is looked down upon simply for being popular. (and you're right, they don't have the right to judge.)

Yeah >_>

Thank you for your kind words :aww:

I've been bullied here too by people.
*that's the main reason I've had to move accounts*

I'm going through crap at home too :\

I quit art for 2 years when one of ym closest friends *who was AWESOME at art*
Personally said my artwork "sucked".

I really don't think the statement about every artists experiencing stuff like this is true.
I've seen some rather egotistical artists practically boast their achievements as great.
*I've met far too many of them on here myself*

Sometimes, but not all the times are journeys rewarding XC

Art thieves suck XD
*I've had trouble with one before, who took one of my ocs and made parody artwork of it*

I'd love to read your writings sometime btw :)

I partially agree with your opinion. Every artist who puts hard work into his or her art, doing stuff that is incredibly amazing, has really good ideas or helps other artists, deserves a dd.
But i also think that things like fast done recolors or similar stuff, sometimes just don't deserve a dd because there is nothing special on it.
All art that is special in its own way should get a dd, but there are sometimes pics that gets a dd but they don't deserve one, like cheap done adoptables or something like that~

This picture here is great and i think it would help a lot of people and i'm glad for the person that got that DD

(sry for my bad english)

"I partially agree with your opinion. Every artist who puts hard work into his or her art, doing stuff that is incredibly amazing, has really good ideas or helps other artists, deserves a dd."
I agree. And sadly, I even see works like those get put down and bashed for being DD's. It probably hurts the artists a lot, and I'm always keeping that in mind when I see comments with people disrespecting the art for getting the feature they didn't even ask for, then said person whines about not getting a DD instead. <:/ It's sad seeing things like that.

"But i also think that things like fast done recolors or similar stuff, sometimes just don't deserve a dd because there is nothing special on it."
That I can also agree on. Especially recolors, haha. Recolors probably shouldn't get a DD.

I'm honestly not picky about what ends up as a DD. And If I don't like something, I just skip it and go on with my day. Save the artist the headache from my useless complaining, no? ^^

I'm happy for the person too, it's a rare
opportunity. That's something they should be proud of ^.^

( Nah, it's fine :) )

It is not "just a kiss," it is a stock photo. Stock photos are unfinished resources for artists to use to create their own art. And as far as stock photos go, this one is very nice. It is high resolution, crisp, clear, lit very well and couples in stock are somewhat of a rarity. If you do not use stock in your art then you won't understand why this was featured. However, not understanding why it is featured does not mean that it does not deserve a feature.

Are you really that ignorant? Yes, I understand stock photos. Before I decided to start creating my own artwork, I experimented with stock photos. A lot. But, seriously, look at that white background -- best of luck trying to cut out the figures; it's ridiculously filthy with lots and lots of spots that the magic wand tool will not be able to handle.

Furthermore, please stop trying to defend Deviantart. It died a long, long, long time ago...in fact, I have no idea why I keep posting here. I understand that you're trying to justify buying a premium membership, but please, don't take out on us.

Thank you, and goodbye.

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more effort that goes into stock photography than we realize.  It has to be simple enough in composition to facilitate modifying it, so to speak, and the lighting must be important as well.  While stock photography is very different than different art forms, I don't think it appropriate to demean it as a lesser one.

You are 100% correct. Creating stock is not easy, nor is it free in many cases. Yet, a lot of people still complain at a free resource not caring the amount of time, energy and money the provider spent making it.

This is getting so many views because it's a Daily Deviation.  It's out there for people to look at and judge and mull over and consider.  You do not have to like everything everybody else does, but you should give them some respect. I'm never certain what that I post will attract attention; people have often surprised me deeply.  I go back and I look at the deviations I've posted that have gotten more views and favorites and it's a very eclectic mix.  I can understand why many of them drew attention individually, of course, but when I am putting them up I am not thinking about what will get the most views or favorites; I am thinking about sharing my work with others and maybe inspiring somebody else.  One person or one million, if you can touch the heart and mind of another, get them thinking and creating on their own, it's worth it to me.  This piece, as stock, above all is about offering something for others to draw from.  Think on that.

Sure you think your art is "most interesting," but maybe others see it as shit? You know, just like how you saw this? You want to know why you aren't getting views? Your attitude. Quite frankly it is childish and if you want to be treated as an esteemed artist then you should act professionally.
